How these are chosen
Three conditions: the paper has to be a systematic review, meta-analysis or randomised trial; it has to carry a DOI and a PMID so anyone can check it; and it has to bear on work actually done here. A study whose result is not what a corrective exercise clinic likes to hear goes in too — one of these six is exactly that.
The summaries are written rather than translated from the abstract. For an exact quotation, go to the paper.
Frequently asked questions
Do these summaries replace talking to a clinician?
No. A study speaks about the average of a group and you are one person. These pages exist so you can see what evidence stands behind what you are offered, and how strong that evidence is.
Why publish the limitations too?
Because without them a summary is an advertisement. When the authors of a meta-analysis rate their own evidence as low to very low certainty, printing only the positive result says something the paper did not.
How often are they updated?
Whenever a new study changes one of these or adds a topic. The last-reviewed date of each page is recorded in that page's structured data.
